As the the "first new nation, "the United States was widely regarded as fulfilling that promise, even though there were several old nations already occupying the land. But today the myth of a "new world" is not superimposed on an uncharted land, a tabla rasa, or a blank tablet, awaiting inscription. Write an essay close to 1,500 words that identifies the origin of Imperialism, explains the consequences of imperialism, and hypothesizes if Imperialism currently continues under a different name, i.e., gentrification, expansion and the like.
