1) Explain the Brainstorming Group Technique in your own words
Using the following scenario as a guideline, explain how you would use this technique to help your group further analyze and identify the issues at hand.
It happens all the time: good employees get a promotion, and suddenly, they're not so good anymore. Such is the case for cat shelter Paws Need Families, as Della, a cleaner turned assistant manager, and then the manager started arriving late, letting applications sit, and slipped on inoculations, all serious offenses. Instead of confronting Della directly, general meetings were held, and an assistant manager was hired to compensate for Della's shortcomings. Ultimately, Della never cleaned up her act, and was fired. Acting as a consultant hired to prevent these issues again, you are asked to create a task force to help explore these issues.
2) During the semester, we’ve discussed various individual and group techniques associated with the Creative Problem Solving Process including SCAMPER. Created by Bob Eberle, the SCAMPER technique helps users improve a product, service and/or process through a checklist of action verbs.
Acting as though the executive leadership team at RadioShack Corporation has brought you in as the Chief Change Consultant, using elements of the SCAMPER technique, outline what you would do to help the company regain its footing in the electronics marketplace. In addition, briefly discuss why you’ve selected the identified SCAMPER elements. NOTE: You must provide a brief introduction.
3) Situation: The Hawkins Supply Company is currently faced with an inventory rotation problem. This difficulty stems from the fact that some supplies must be used prior to a stated expiration date. Upon receipt, a new shipment of these perishable items must be stacked beneath the boxes that are currently in inventory. A substantial amount of time is consumed in restacking the items according to their expiration dates.
Problem: The Company would like to reduce the double and sometimes triple handling of items.
