In muscle phosphorylase, binding of ATP makes the protein tend to be in the T state, while binding of AMP makes the protein tend to be in the R state.

Why isn't it the other way around? Why doesn't AMP shift the protein to the T state, and ATP shift the protein to the R state?

Why doesn't liver phosphorylase respond to energy charge?
