Write a 1,250-1,500 word paper based on the interview in which you address the following:
Explain the application of ethics in the health care environment of the interviewee.
Compare and contrast the interviewee's answers with what you have learned in this course.
Include additional resources that support, reinforce, or even challenge your findings and observations.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
INTERVIEW:
How does the health care professional define ethical challenges?
An ethical challenge is a situation that arises when the parties involved do not agree with or follow the established plan of care for the patient.
How does the health care professional handle ethical challenges?
We gather together all the information we can and present to our ethical committee that consists of our Area Clinical Directors (RN and RPH), RN Risk Manager, Compliance Office, Lawyer, DOO, DOP, DON, AVP, and discuss the case at length.
We will then make decisions of our next steps and include the physician and patient/caregiver.
