Write the balanced chemical equation for the reaction of solid tetraphosphorus hexoxide with water. I know the answer (because of the book) is P4O6(s) + 6 H2O(l) --> 4H3PO3(aq). What I don't understand is how they got it. I know that tetraphosphorus hexoxide is P4O6 and water is H2O. What I don't understand it how it becomes 4H3PO3.
A mass of 46 g of solid sodium reacts with 38 g of flourine gas to produce 84 g of sodium flouride, Na F.
Calculate the [CH3CO2H] ionized in solution for 0.1M acetic acid knowing that ph= 2.9 [H+]= 1.26 x 10^-3 M , [OH-]= 7.94 x 10^-12 M
Radio station KLBJ broadcasts at a frequency of 93.7 × 106 s-1. Determine the length of the waves that corresponds to this frequency.
If 1.26 L of H2 gas are formed at STP, how many gram of HCl reacted? The reaction is Zn(s) + 2HCl(aq) ( H2(g) + ZnCl2 (aq)
In the coordination compound K2[Co(en)Cl4] the coordination number (C.N.) and oxidation number (O.N.) of Cobalt are C.N. = 6; O.N. = +2. C.N. = 6; O.N. = +3. C.N. = 5; O.N. = +2. C.N. = 5; O.N. = +4. C.N. = 4; O.N. = +3.
racemic 2-methyl-1-butanol instead of 1-butanol in your experiment, why would you expect to see more than one ether side product?
8 ml of the HCl was used to titrate the pK_a 3.8 group; so 2 ml was enough to titrate the rest of the high pK_a group. The upper pK_a group must have begun the experiment as 80% acid form, 20% base form.
A 100 mL of a 0.100 M solution of vinegar (acetic acid, CH3COOH) is mixed with 100 mL of a 0.100 M baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) solution and a reaction proceeds that generates carbon dioxide, water and sodium acetate.
Describe spectroscopic or chemical tests to distinguish between the following pairs of compounds
water from 20 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees Celsius. What is the delta H of combustion of the propane. What is the sign (positive or negative) of delta H?
What is the pH of the solution? The K of hypochlorous acid is 3.8*10-8. Please explain how to get this using the Henderson-Hassalbach Equation.
