Assignment - Presenting the Learning Theory
Learning outcome 1: Evaluate how adult learning theories complement the cognition of adult learners.
Topic: EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Presenting the Learning Theory
In your first assignment, you explored an adult learning theory and how it could help you teach other adults. In the second assignment, you created some specific instructional strategies that aligned with this theory. In this final assignment, you will explore the "why" of your adult learning theory: what makes it so effective? To answer this question, you will create a slide presentation in which you will discuss three major ways that this adult learning theory complements the way an adult brain functions, based on what we have learned in this course.
For this assignment, create a presentation (10-12 slides in length) in which you: Provide a brief overview of the learning theory (1-2 slides).
Describe at least five characteristics of the theory (3-5 slides).
Discuss three ways that the adult learner theory complements the way an adult brain functions (3 slides, 1 for each way).
Explain two strategies to incorporate the learning theory into an instructional setting (2 slides).
Develop a conclusion for the presentation that includes lessons learned (1 slide).
Keep in mind the following:
Include a title slide and references section. Note: These two slides are not part of the 10-12 slide requirement.
Develop a creative, appealing presentation for a professional audience, using appropriate images, colors, and font sizes to make your presentation appealing.
Provide coherent, clear, organized, and substantive content that can be easily understood by the audience.
