Question - The Covid-19 crisis is primarily a public health issue, but it is also having an impact on the economies and the financial systems of countries. In 2020, Policymakers reacted swiftly with various measures to address the uncertainty caused and minimise its impact on their populations and the expected downturn in economic activity. The primary response to the virus was to manage the health of the population, but other arms of policy, including monetary policy, and fiscal policy played an important role. At the beginning of 2021, the availability of various vaccines has to some extent increased confidence in the economy, though the health crisis is far from over for any country. (Country: Portugal)
