The person that I chose for this case study is Tommy Johnson.

Autism- a developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior.

Tommy Johnson is suffer from Autism. An ethical dilemma that I may encounter while trying to create an inclusive environment for Tommy would be that Tommy rarely responds to people when he is being spoken to, and he becomes upset and loses his temper throughout the day. These dilemmas can cause difficulty for an inclusive environment. Being that an inclusive environment connects exceptional learners and regular learners,  it may be hard for children to learn if one particular student has a tantrum. It can bring disruption to the entire class. Also, if children are pairing together for a specific activity, it can be difficult to have a partner who is not as verbal as others. These dilemmas can be an issue overall.

A solution that I propose for these ethical dilemmas is for one support Tommy physically. When he loses his temper and becomes upset, try to create breathing exercises to bring down the temper. " Protecting and supporting the physical and psychological safety of individuals with exceptionalities. ( council for exceptional children 2015). Tommy is not a verbal human being. He does not respond when he is spoken to. Research shows that children with Autism are often shy and do not speak. A solution that I propose for this dilemma is comfort Tommy with in the classroom setting. Showing love and affection in the classroom  will hopefully open up a form of comfort so that Tommy will become more responsive when spoken to around myself and his peers. " . Promoting meaningful and inclusive participation of individuals with exceptionalities in their schools and communities."  ( council for exceptional children 2015). Dealing with any individual who suffers from any disorder can be challenging but there are ways to make things better. Using the proper materials and resources will definitely help.
