We have seen that throughout the year social media has become one of the dominant marketing factors in any industry, especially the healthcare environment where organizations need to create value and at the same time let society know what, where, and how they operate to retain current and obtain new patients. This process of retaining and gaining new patients is based on the improvement method PDSA where the main idea is to take advantage and improve products or services based on constant change to obtain high-quality results. Reading about social media and marketing strategies I found valuable information on how the healthcare industry has benefited from the use and tools they offered to attract and retain patients and employees. In this case, I choose again Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital since in my opinion is an example of excellent and professional performance, they have a clear concept and understanding of how to do business and provide good patient care at the same time.
JoeDiMaggio's marketing strategy is to have simple and transparent information that patients can rely on and obtain important material; they invest time into publishing video content that communicates patient stories, experiences, advice from staff members, discoveries, and new healthcare regulations. Joe DiMaggio uses their marketing approach for professional careers which motivates new possible candidates as well as current employees to look for better opportunities within the organization; it displays every opportunity, description, requirement, and the benefits of working for them. JoeDiMaggio social media strategy is about integrating Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and any other social network to its website that demonstrates the reason why a patient should choose them. They also use webinars, which allow them to stablish direct relationship with patients on different levels; as well, they use different blogs where they publish links to new regulations and important information. Mainly the strategies from JoeDiMaggio are Share Health News, educate and engage with patients, increase awareness for treatment and health conditions, expose their brand and name to the public, and demonstrate overall transparency by providing true stories and experiences from patients.
