In my chemistry lab we poured 30 mL of the solution of 1,6-diaminohexane/sodium hydroxide into a 100 mL beaker under the hood and gently layered 20 mL of 2% sebacoyl chloride (decanedioyl chloride)/hexane on top of the aqueous solution. And then we used forceps to draw the solid that forms at the interface A(nylon) into a thread and wound the thread around a test tube. (It was white-ish slimy, string-like).
