Discussion Post: Class Introductions & the definition of risk
Part I:
I'm looking forward to learning together. Let's take a few moments to introduce ourselves. Please write a short post or share a 1-2 minute video introduction answering the following:
1) Share your preferred name (and a photo, if you are writing a response),
2) Your undergraduate degree and college,
3) A place you'd like to visit if you could travel safely and had the necessary documents and financial resources, and
4) A fun fact about yourself.
Part II:
1) Based on what you've read in the Module 1 readings, your own professional experience, your academic experience, and any additional references you choose to cite, answer the following questions.
a) Define what are the characteristics of project risk including the possible threats, opportunities and obstacles.
b) Explain the role projects play in the strategic management process.
Remember...
1) Your initial post to Part 2 should be at least 150-300 (but no more than 400) words and should respond to the professor's weekly question(s). You may substitute a 2-3 minute (but no more than 5 minute) video for your initial discussion post.
2) Your discussion posts are graded on six criteria:
a) Responsiveness - Is each question answered completely?
b) Quality - Is the response written clearly and in academic English?
c) Length - Is the initial post at least 200-300 words (but no more than 400 words) long OR a 2-3 minute (but no more than 5 minute) video?
d) Citations - Is the post free of plagiarism? Does the response properly use references in APA format when appropriate?
e) Evidence - Are ideas supported by outside sources or clear examples from your personal or professional experience? Are any sources you use reliable?
f) Timeliness - Is it posted by the deadline?
