Problem: Randy went to Carter's house and spent six hours scraping paint. Randy realized the job would be much more work than he expected and that he would need to be paid more than $5,000 for the work. Randy stopped working on Carter's job and left. ON June 3: Randy was offered a different job that would take a month to complete and would pay him much more than Carter's job. Randy emailed Carter that he had decided not to do Carter's job. Carter received and read Randy's email. ON June 15: Carter returned home. Carter discovered that she could not hire anyone else to paint her house for less than $8,500. Carter demanded that Randy finish the work. Randy refused. Carter hired another company to paint her house for $8.500. Carter sued Randy for the additional $3,500 that the painting cost her.
