Task overview within the last 12 months

Leadership does not happen in a vacuum but is being influenced by, and influencing, the context. This assessment requires you to choose and track a leader from the media (i.e., newspaper, social media, company press release, television, radio etc.) or a leader who you have immediate knowledge of/have worked with.

More specifically, you are required to critically evaluate the leadership approach shown by the leader of your choice and analyse how the leadership approach may have been influenced by varied business contexts. We are looking to see how you have used the credible academic literature to support the analysis of your leaders. Please ensure you cover the following four questions in your essay:

• What is it about a particular leadership model or scholar's point of view that is coming through in practice with your leader? Are there any areas that are not coming through?
• What contributes as antecedents to his/her leadership style?
• The impact his/her leadership style can have on the employees
• How has the leadership style been influenced by the organisation's external global and/or local
• contextual changes/trends?

Task specifics

1. The leader of your choice can be from either an organisation that you have immediate knowledge of, or have worked in, or any well-known organisation in the private or public sector that you can research through the Internet. There are many possible organisations to choose from, including: airlines, financial institutions, manufacturing enterprises, service sector enterprises, government departments, public sector organisations, e.g., hospitals and universities and so forth. (based on Ben and jerry company)

• Introduce the topic and make sure that you include the background and the rationale of your essay, outline the structure of your essay as well as state your position;
• Where possible, compare different authors' views on the topic;
• Clearly convey your stance in response to the essay tasks, citing evidence from credible academic
• sources (i.e. peer-reviewed journal articles) to support your position;
• Engage with relevant Leadership practices as well as theories in analysing the leadership
• approach presented by the leader of your choice;
• Provide empirical examples to illustrate arguments, drawing on evidence from academic and/or
• empirical resources;
• Provide a conclusion and outline management implications where relevant;
• Write a 2000-word
