An individual was hired 3 months ago as the Administrator of a relatively large Hospital Emergency Room. Their resume looked very good and demonstrated 5 years of previous smaller ER experience. The interview process went very well and the individual was hired over 8 other candidates.
Well, things haven't been going very well related to the individual's 3 months of performance.
-They arrive 15-30 minutes late every day, start packing up to leave at 4, and are out of the door by 5:00 pm sharp.
-The ER Medical Director has attempted to reach the Administrator multiple times for emergencies between 5-6 pm with no response.
-They disappear multiple times throughout the day for a minimum of 20 minutes.
-The ER has been more hectic, due to the new surge of COVID cases and no methodology has been established to improve the traffic flow in the ER.With that being said, it is time for you as the Hospital Administrator to conduct the 3-month probationary evaluation. Please post a probationary evaluation, which includes a performance improvement plan to address the issues identified. Otherwise, you should choose to terminate them
