Many power plants produce energy by burning carbon-based fuels, which also produces carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so over-production can have negative effects on the environment. Use enthalpy of formation data to calculate the number of moles of CO2(g) produced per megajoule of heat released from the combustion of each fuel under standard conditions (1 atm and 25 °C) Use enthalpy of formation data to calculate the number of moles of CO2 (g) produced per megajoule of heat released from the combustion of each fuel under standard condition (1atm and 25 degrees celcius) a)Coal , C (s, graphite) b) Natural gas, CH4(g) c) Propane, C3H8 (g) d) Octane, C8H18 (l) ( delta Hf= -250.1 kJ . mol ^-1 All these answers have to be in mol.MJ^-1

What is the incremental profit : What is the incremental profit? To get a rough idea of the projects profitability, what is the projects expected rate of return for the next year (defined as the incremental profit divided by the investment)? Should the firm make the investment?
Compute the distance between the two slits : Two very narrow slits are illuminated by monochromatic coherent light in air that has wavelength 560 nm, What is the distance between the two slits
Which would sell for the greatest price : If a corporation were to choose between issuing a debenture, a mortgage bond, or a subordinated debenture, everything else equal (such as coupon rate, maturity, etc.) which would sell for the greatest price?
Explain over-production can have negative effects : Many power plants produce energy by burning carbon-based fuels, which also produces carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, so over-production can have negative effects on the environment.
Determine required width and volume flowrate of the model : The spillway for a dam is 20 m wide and is designed to carry 125 m3/s at flood stage. A 1:15 ratio model is constructed to study the flow characteristics through the spillway. The effects of surface tension and viscosity can be neglected.
The direct write-off method of accounting for uncollectibles : Write-off method does not use an allowance for uncollectible accounts and thus overstates assets on the balance sheet.
Determine the required volume flowrate qm in the model : Model tests are to be performed to study the flow through a large check valve having an inlet diameter of 2 feet and a volume flowrate Qp of 30 cfs. The working fluid in the model is water at the same temperature as that in the prototype.
Explain calculate the equilibrium pressure of h2 : In the reaction below, 6.15 atm each of H2 and I2 were placed into a 1.00 L flask and allowed to react: H2(g) + I2(g) 2 HI(g) Given that Kc = 45.5, calculate the equilibrium pressure of H2.
