Explain Optimization in a Players Selection

Problem- From the set of seven players, Coach Night has to select five-players start lineup. While selecting the lineup, objective is the maximize defensive ability and meet the lineup composition and playing abilities constraints.

At least four members must be able to play guard (G), at least two members must be able to play forward (F), and at least one member must be able to play center (C). The average ball-handling, shooting, and rebounding level of the starting lineup must each be at least 1.8 and either player 2 or 3 must start.

I need to explain an application of optimization in a players selection problem. The solution demonstrates the use of linear programming and spreadsheet modelling in a different context.
