Mr Jones sustained the injury while bowling with his local bowling club - he tripped, fell, fracture his neck of femur, and sprained his right wrist. He recently retired from an administrative position with a large company and moved from his home in Melbourne to Queensland. He has two children, who both live about 1300km away. Mr Jones lives alone in a one-bedroom apartment about 12 km from the hospital. in two days, Mr Jones will be discharge and referred to the hospital's home team for follow up care.
