In a constant pressure calorimeter, (1.4250x10^2) mL of a 1.00 M metal chloride solution (MCl2(aq)) were added to (1.4250x10^2) mL of a 0.500 M potassium sulfate solution. The total heat capacity of the calorimeter (including all its contents) was 1.75 kJ oC-1. The temperature in the calorimeter rose from 24.50oC to (2.92x10^1) oC. Calculate the enthalpy change (in kJ/mol) for the precipitation reaction: M2+(aq) + SO42-(aq) ? MSO4(s).
