• Joseph Smith is an American citizen who lives in New York City, USA.

• Joseph's mother is Janice Smith. She is a Canadian citizen who lives in Toronto, Ontario.

• On May 1, 2019, Joseph tried to enter Canada to visit his mother. He does this every week, and this is the first time he has had a problem.

• He wants to spend one week every month staying with his mother in Toronto because she is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.

• The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) refused Joseph entry to Canada because he was convicted in the USA of "driving under the influence" in 2018.

• There is now a note on his immigration record not to allow him into Canada. Details about the criminal charges: Arrest date: June 1, 2018 Location: Miami, Florida, United States of America Charge(s) and statute: Driving under the influence car - First Degree - Misdemeanour §316.193 (1) Florida Statutes Sentence and fine:

1. day of imprisonment and 365 days of probation Sentence issued: December 1, 2018 Criminal Code of Canada equivalence: §320.14

a. Fill in only the Application for Criminal Rehabilitation [IMM 1444] (make up the missing information) and Use of Representative form

2. Suggest two extra documents you would include in your package to strengthen the application. These would be documents beyond what is required on the checklist.

3. Write cover letter explaining why Joseph should get a multiple-entry TRP:

a. Explain why Joseph is inadmissible

b. Explain the circumstances behind the arrest (e.g. why Joseph was driving drunk)
