Instruction -

You have to find a recent research article (2016-date) that deals with a mixture of gases. The objective is to summarize the article and discuss some of the concepts learned in class (a. Intermolecular Forces b. Statistical Thermodynamics c. Properties of Gas Mixtures). Please make sure that you address the requests presented below. Good Luck!

Problem -

1. Chose a recent article (2016-date) that deals with a mixture of gases and summarize it (1-2 pages) using your own words? Please make sure that you attach a hard copy of the article with your summary.

2. Explain the intermolecular forces that are present in your system? Make sure that you describe the forces in each of the systems available (e.g., 1-1, 2-2 and 1-2 - all of them). Show their chemical structures to support your explanations!

3. Describe and perform a sample calculation of at least two of the mixture properties presented in the article.

4. Explain all of the resulting properties based on intermolecular interactions or any other consideration that you may find appropriate?

5. Compare the obtained binary interaction parameters for the systems studied? What can you conclude when you compare them?

6. If the article uses alternative models, please compare them and talk about the strengths and limitations of each model? If it doesn't use alternative models, suggest one alternative model and discuss your expectations for this model?

7. What would you do different? Or perform a sample calculation using a different approach? Or talk about the biggest criticism that you have for the selected article?
