The reaction N2(g) <--> 2N(g) has K°p = 3 X 10^ -6 at 4000K. A certain gas mixture at 4000K has partial pressures p of N2 = 720 torr, p of N = 0.12 torr, and p of He = 320 torr. Is this system at equilibrium? If not, will the amount of N(g) increase or decrease as the system proceeds to equilibrium at 4000 k in a fixed volume?
