BACKGROUND:
Patient is a 78 year old female, admitting diagnosis of DKA, with past medical history of diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and CAD. She is NPO, has slurred speech and doctor ordered for her Neuro to be assessed every 4 hours. Patient is alert and oriented x2, urethral catheter, bed bound, high risk for fall. Patient lives alone and independent, patients son found her in her room locked on the floor sleeping, hard to wake up. The son only came to visit her at home as he was notified by her doctor that she has not been going to her scheduled appointments.
1. Explain in detail why her following lab results are not in normal range:
