Hypervenilation raises the pH of the blood in a condition known as respiratory alkalosis. Common treatment is to have the patient breathe into a paper bag, which increases the CO2 concentration in the blood. How does this treatment lower the pH of the blood? Answer using Le Chatelier's Principle and the equilibria below.
