Thesis Statement:

The reasons for Irish immigration to the United States in the 19th and 20th centuries were numerous, including poverty, Famine, and diseases. Although confronted with hostility, extreme poverty and hate by the opponents of the Catholic regime and American natives, the Irish immigrants overcame the challenges. They prevailed in acquiring much power and influence in the cities of the United States.
