Assignment: Techniques & Interpretation for Statistical Analysis
You were asked to find various variables within your school site, discussing the various types of variables that they represent and why. You also were directed to find specific pieces of data that could be used to better reflect upon the success of the teaching and learning going on in that environment.
You will review those pieces of data and by using a variety of variables, you will set up different testing options using both a one-way and two-way ANOVA application. You are to set each potential research option so that anyone viewing your ideas for running data can easily understand the components of each variable the way that you selected your sample to help support the most valid and reliable results. To help make this a reality, follow the following steps very carefully:
Question A. Review the variables discussed and the data available by making a list of each and identifying whether they could be considered independent or dependent variable.
Question B. After completing your list, review the definitions and requirements for creating a one-way ANOVA to be sure what specific type of variables are needed.
Question C. Present the variables selected and how the data was collected, including the size and description of the initial population, the sampling technique to be used, and your expected "n".
Question D. Explain how you would prepare the data in an Excel spreadsheet along with the type of ANOVA software package option you will choose. To do this part you may need to look up online how to use Excel to run a one-way and two-way ANOVA.
Question E. Now you can follow the same steps and write up the second report, only this time you will be developing a research study using a two-way ANOVA. Again, be aware of the number of independent and dependent variables that are required to run the data correctly.
Write a 1250 words essay addressing each of the above points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the prompts for each point and include your Excel tables in the body of your essay. There should be separate sections, one for each topic above. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which topic you are addressing in that section of your paper.
During this work, you will be paired with another student in this class. This will allow you to review another student's work and give feedback as to the correct number and type of variables that were selected by your partner, and he/she will do the same for you. Upon completion of the steps above, you will send a copy of your work to your pre-selected partner by Day 6, and they will send you their work using the class email function. Carefully review the work using the required rubric, giving any suggested feedback to help each other.
Once you receive the feedback from your partner, you can make any changes you agree may be needed and then turn your work into the required area for your instructor's assessment.
