Problem: CLINICAL APPLICATION EXERCISE In this clinical exercise, you will formulate a plan for Anthony, a 5-year-old boy who, during testing, produced many indeterminate words such as thing, that, and that in his spontaneous language sample while playing with his mother and the examiner. On formal vocabulary tests, Anthony obtained a score indicating a small vocabulary for his age. The errors in the tests were again largely indeterminate errors (I don't know), but also superordinate terms (animal instead of bear, toy instead of racing car) or circumlocutions (things I wear instead of pants or shirt). . Plan a treatment goal that focuses on vocabulary. This will require you to choose one or two categories that are underdeveloped to target separately. List 5-10 vocabulary words to teach in each category. Finally, consider the sections of the chapter (chapter 7) on connectionist networking and quantity and quality of word learning with regards to setting up a rich lexicon. Plan a hands-on intervention activity to teach your vocabulary targets. REQUIREMENTS: I. Identify and define the vocabulary strategy you will use. II. Identify the goal. III.
