Scenario

Jeff Irvine is the Fitness and Nutrition team lead. He currently has four amazing people on his team. To ensure they stay motivated and efficient Jeff has decided to put a work plan together to ensure everyone is on the same page and working towards the agreed goals of the company.

Each employee is required to work a minimum of 38 hours in a week. The company has a fairly flexible work hour policy as many of their clients prefer to workout before and after their own nine to five work day. This means working out the business needs across shifts, as well as consultation with all the team to ensure their needs are met too. Jeff's first priority is to ensure the group fitness timetable is rostered appropriately (e.g. the Yoga classes and Bootcamps), then time is set aside for individualised personal training sessions, professional development activities and, of course, the dreaded paperwork! The team also have to work with the Sales and Marketing team to help them with potential opportunities and consultations. He has decided to use a typical roster system and will review it in a couple of weeks once it has been implemented. He puts out an email to his team asking for their feedback about their preferences for rostering.

He has the following four people on his fitness team:

Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor - Mario Balestra

Mario loves to get his training partners to push to their limits. He is a full-on guy and that comes out in his training style. He is motivated and generally goes at 100k's per hour - all the time! One thing that inspires him is talking with people about their fitness goals and how to integrate that with the rest of their lifestyle.

Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor - Claire O'Connell

Claire is a busy mum of three and loves to have the flexibility that this job gives her. She is keen to increase her personal training clients and loves the thought of getting into the corporate market where she can get people moving on their lunch break. She is specifically interested in helping new mums with their fitness as this is how she originally got into the fitness game herself. After her first baby she felt listless, frumpy and unhealthy. She met Nikola Deed, did some counselling with her and through hard work and determination completed her certificate to become a fitness instructor.

Personal Trainer, Fitness & Yoga Instructor - Carlos Rodriguez

Carlos is the total opposite to Mario. He is laid back, calm and relaxed. Yoga is his thing and he loves nothing more than a walk on the beach to collect his thoughts. Paperwork however is the bane of his existence and tends to be the last thing on his mind at the end of every week!

Yoga Instructor - Nikola Deed

As the co-founder, yoga instructor and head of natural therapies, Nikola has her finger in lots of pies within the business. Even so she loves to keep her skills up by running classes.
