Individual Assignment: Implementing Change
All organisations will encounter change at some point in their life cycle. This can be a small change, like switching office supply companies or updating software, or it can be a large change, like opening an additional location or merging with another organisation.
No matter the size of the change, there are many who will be involved or affected by its implementation. For example, there are stakeholders who need to be involved in the change process, others who might be dramatically affected by the change and still others who may want to be involved as well. When managing change, it is important to consider each of these groups, their needs and how can you involve them in the change process to increase the odds of success.
To prepare for this Individual Assignment:
- Review the organisation and issue you selected for your Final Project.
- Review the Learning Resources from this unit and focus on organisational change and the role of stakeholders; use these as a basis to identify one to two additional scholarly sources on these topics.
- Think about how involving stakeholders in implementing changes can increase the chances of the change being successful.
To complete this Individual Assignment:
- Propose an organisational change that could be made to address the organisational issue you identified. Be specific and use citations from the literature to justify your proposal.
- Explain which change management model(s) you might use to implement your proposed change, and why.
- Identify internal and external stakeholders and explain how you would manage relationships with these stakeholders.
- Explain how you could involve stakeholders from the organisation in each stage of the change management model's process.
- Explain how you might know whether the model you chose was successfully implemented.
- Provide two to four questions you might need to ask key stakeholders in order to obtain additional information that would help in refining your proposed change.
