The LiAlH4 reaction with ketones and that you must use a anhydrous aprotic solvent with it because of how violent it reacts with water and alcohols, my question is what WOULD actually happen if it reacted with an alcohol? for instance butan-1-ol? Since this isnt a ketone, how would the reaction carry out using LiAlH4?
