Tween-20 is a detergent that is often used in immunological assays. Concentrated Tween-20 a viscous liquid and is difficult to accurately pipette in small amounts. Because of thism it is common to make a 10% stock of Tween 20 i nwater and use this to add to other solutions such as PBS. It is generally used at fairly low concentrations in the range of .1-1%. PBS containing 0.1% Tween-20 (PBST) is commonly used as a wash solution in ELISA. Someone in your lab has made an error in making upthis .1% solution. They inadvertently prepared 400mL containing 0.04% Tween 20. How would you adjust the concentration of Tween 20 in this stoct to 0.1% usng a 10% Tween 20 Stock? Hint: First determine how much 10% Tween 20 was used to make a .04% soluntion/\; then how much should have been used to make a 0.1% solution. What is the difference in volumes?
