Question: If anything has instrumental value, then it must be the case that something has intrinsic value. Explain these terms and why this is so. Aristotle and Epicurus differ importantly on what they think it is that has intrinsic value. What are their respective views here and which, if either, do you think is more reasonable? Moral reasons to act largely come in three varieties.

What are the three varieties of moral reasons one might employ to determine what the right thing to do is in any given situation?

We discussed how these various moral perspectives might come into conflict and moral controversies can arise when an action looks permissible from one perspective but impermissible from another. Explain how these perspectives can run into conflict and give at least one example of a moral controversy where this is the case.
