Assignment - Policy Impacts
Scenario:
Still working within the local authority, you have been seconded to a working party that is monitoring the impact of government policies on public services and their personnel
P4: Identify two government policies and explain how the policies impacts the police and Armed forces.
P5: You will need to then talk about how society is affected by the two government policies elaborating on P4.
M3: Write a report which describes and explains, with examples, the impact of these government policies on different public services
D2: Evaluate the impact of government policies on public services and the communities they serve.
You need to demonstrate how government policies are developed.
This will be achieved through participation in a simulation of the development process of government policies.
You need to formulate and research a policy, through the use of focus groups and questionnaires. The class will then debate each policy and vote on it in a simulation of the Houses of Parliament.
You should make notes about each process and use the information to make clear and effective contributions to an observed discussion with a small group of your peers. In this way both the observation comments and the prepared notes will contribute to the assessment.
• Your role play will need to be documented in a reflective account and you will need to review your policy after it has been debated.
• Analyse how government policies are developed using a word document.
