Assessment - Organisation Culture Analysis
The Assessment Task
For this assessment students will create an individual video presentation that will explore and analyse an organisation's workplace culture. The organisation can be in Australia or elsewhere but must be currently in existence and ONLY selected from the identified industries. The analysis is to be undertaken having regard to the Model of Organisational Culture identified by Edgar Schein.
Assessment Description
This is an individual assessment where students are to assume the role of working for the organisation. The organisation's leadership team is conducting an audit of the organisations culture therefore the student is required to research, analyse to provide a presentation to the leadership team. Students are required to explore and analyse a contemporary organisation of their own choice, currently in existence, not a franchise and MUST be drawn from the list of industries provided (students may not select any other industry for this assessment):

- Charity/Not for Profit
- Healthcare
- Hospitality & Tourism
- Logistics
Assessment Instructions
Once the organisation has been chosen for the assessment, students must undertake further research about the organisation and the organisations culture. The goal is to prepare - using PowerPoint slides or similar, and deliver - via a recorded video presentation (5-7min), expert organisational cultural analysis to the chosen organisation's Executive Leadership team by addressing the following points:
A description of Schein's Model of Organisational Culture explaining the three levels of organisational culture
An analysis of the organisation's current situation in relation to its workplace culture applied to the following aspects of Schein's Model:
Analysis of the current artifacts.
Analysis of the current values and vision.
Analysis of current workplace practices and behaviour (you may find positive or negative practices please apply both).
Provide a description of how the current organisational culture is perceived.
Explain how the organisational culture supports the goal of maintaining positive workplace relationships and strategic goals for future organisational prosperity.
