2. Analyze a theme from the novel. Choose one ongoing or underlying theme from the novel and explain how that theme helps develop the plot and/or characters in the novel. Be specific using evidence from the text. Remember a theme is more than one word or big idea. Use this formula: idea + subject = theme (see PowerPoint in Canvas for more information).

It is very important to remember that this paper is not a "book report." It should not simply be a plot summary. You must dig a bit deeper to be successful on this paper.
