Case Study : Parker works at a large law firm in downtown New York City. The law firm consists of several offices with cubicles in a central area. The organization of the space is designed for efficient workflow between employees and clients. Parker has been working with the company for 6 months and is still in need of coaching to maintain efficiency in the fast-paced environment. However, Parker is not responsive to these coaching sessions, and is not adhering to office policies. For instance, Parker can often be heard in his cube taking personal calls and has been seen shopping online from his office computer. His poor job performance is causing his co-workers to work extra hours to pick up the slack. When this occurs, Parker does not take ownership for his actions and claims he is doing his job. During group meetings, Parker does not engage in conversation or work well with others. His behavior toward his co-workers is rather negative, and they are beginning to feel the pressures of Parker failing to meet the expectations of the company.
