To being your experiment you will calibrate your apparatus by injecting air into a sealed reaction bottle. Suppose you inject 20.0 mL of air (initially at a temperature of 23.1 (degrees Celsius) and a pressure of .954 atm) into a bottle at the same temperature and pressure. After the injection, the pressure is observed to be 1.023 atm (with no change in temperature). How many moles of gas caused this pressure change 1.023-.954 atm=.069 atm? This mole-to pressure change equivalence will be used asa conversion factor in questions 2 and 3.
