A 0.286 mol sample of a mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide with a total pressure of 802. torr is exposed to solid calcium oxide which reacts with carbon dioxide to form solid calcium carbonate. Presume the reaction goes to completion. After reaction was complete, the pressure of the gas had dropped to 348. torr. Explain how many moles of CO2 were in the original mixture? Assume no change in volume or temperature.
