Question: In Example, we learned that when students are asked to "randomly pick a number between 1 and 10" they are much more likely to choose 7 than any other number, and much less likely to choose 1 than any other number. Explain how you could actually "randomly pick a number between 1 and 10." Your method should be such that all 10 numbers have the same chance of being selected.

Example: Lighting the Way to Nearsightedness A survey of 479 children found that those who had slept with a nightlight or in a fully lit room before the age of 2 had a higher incidence of nearsightedness (myopia) later in childhood (Sacramento Bee, May 13, 1999, pp. A1, A18).
