This is the question : Explain how Chester Barnard's and Mary Parker Follet's approaches are being applied in AMAZE INC.. Explain in detail (discuss separately for each of these two approaches).
AMAZE INC. Organization use the behaviour approach in most aspects of organization practise. the company uses Mary Parker Follet and Chestar Barnard theory in order to achieve the company main goals.
Follet theory was that the management should encouraging the works by three main approaches, coordination, self-management and collaboration. This three points are implemented in the AMAZE INC organization. The company "allows employees to take charge of their own actions", and the way they do it is by "giving employees the option to direct themselves for 20% of their time"; These approach of the management stringently related to the idea of Follet about self-management. Another aspect where the company uses Follet theory is by "acknowledge and reward the people who have succeeded by their own initiative. Often it is the employees who initiate the innovations and it is the employees that have control over a product's completion, rather than leaving it up to the judgment of a higher level manager" this is shows that they act according to the coordination idea that means to encouraging the workers through involving then in the job to achieve the group effort. Another aspect of the company is to push the workers to work together, as a team "All employees are encouraged to work together, rather than to simply work under the supervision of a manager" this help to build strong communication and sharing among the employees, also they give bonuses to groups that develop good products and by this action, again, they try to encourage the workers to work together; this behavior of the management related to the theory of both Follet and Barnard; Follet talk about the importance of collaboration and also Barnard saw the company as a communication system and claimed that the workers should work together.
The last point is that the company shows to the workers that they are important to the organization by letting them sharing their ideas and by giving the awards for their work " They need to believe that their contributions matter and that they are appreciated by those around them" and this is connected to the Barnard idea of letting the employees see and feel that their work are very important to the success of the company.
