You have just been transferred to 123 Pharmaceuticals Limited to assume the position of Director of the Warehouse Department. You are very excited about your promotion as you have many ideas which were gleaned from the courses you have just completed as part of your degree program.

At the interview, you were given a brie?ng on the department by the Human Resource Manager, Eugene Thompson. It was Mrs. Thompson's understanding from the previous Department Head that the twenty women and ?ve men employed in the department were all lazy, uncooperative and indisciplined. They showed no respect to the previous Department Head, who they felt did not know what she was doing. The group constantly complained about the lack of resources and the less than perfect work environment, and exercised no initiative in decision-making or problem solving under the previous Department Head.
