Which statement is correct concerning gas exchange in plants?

If stomata do not allow in enough CO2, the guard cells close.

When water is plentiful, the central vacuole of guard cells fills and turgor force on the cell walls increases. The guard cells push against each other opening a pore.

The stomata receive hormonal signals from the plant, indicating when they should open and close for gas exchange.

When water is scarce, the central vacuole gains water and the turgor force is reduced, causing the pore to close.
