The final reaction in the gluconeogenesis pathway in the liver is catalyzed by glucose-6-phosphatase: hydrolysis of glucose-6-phosphate to generate free glucose, which can leave the cell to replenish blood glucose:

glucose 6-phosphate + H2O ---> glucose + Pi

The chemical mechanism of the reaction involves transfer of phosphoryl group to the enzyme, forming a phospho-enzyme intermediate: a His residue is phosphorylated, and H2O hydrolyzes the P enzyme intermediate. Determine the type of mechanism
