Ethical leadership means making the right decisions and doing the right things, when in powerful position. Good ethical leadership greatly relies on personal values. According to Kaufman (2008), the connection between ethical leadership and a leader's values manifests in myriad ways. This connection is largely determined through the creation and maintenance of loyalty and respect within the organization. For example, a leader who truly believes in the kind of duties he or she performs for their employer is greatly revitalized to create necessary, beneficial and safe services and products with pride, respect, and dedication to the purpose. Secondly, a leader's personal values play a significant role in ethical leadership, in the manner in which, a leader makes decisions that align to the organizational vision. Personal values transcend both experiences and contexts, and therefore are essential in making complex and more flexible decisions (Caldwell, Shapiro & Gross, 2007). In addition, personal values influence ethical leadership in accordance to the way a leader stimulates vision and inspire their followers. For example, within the team setting, a leader's personal values enhance team building, sharing of ideas as well as motivating the team members to achieve results.
