Derive the expression for the energy of a molecule.

Consider the system of a gas adsorbed onto a surface. The gas can be treated as a two-dimensional ideal gas, and modeled as a particle in a two-dimensional box. Derive the expression for Q and derive an expression for the energy of this molecule.
