Based only on your experiences and current knowledge, make a definition for the term "computer." Ask yourself, "What makes a computer a computer?" In other words, what basic characteristics must any "gadget" have for it to be classified as a computer?

Once you have developed your definition, look around the home for electronic gadgets that might be considered a computer or contains an embedded computer (other than the desktop or laptop). For example, is your television a computer?

List at least FOUR items within your house that you identified as being a computer or not a computer. Explain how the four items do or do not fit into your definition of a computer. (NOTE: Two items identified should be classified as a computer.)
