Company XYZ has been developing competitive inhibitors of a particular enzyme, flipase. Flipase has a k2 = 980/sec and Km = 1.2 mM.

The previous best inhibitor is drug candidate AAA, with a Ki value of 10^-6 M. The following data has just come in from the lab for a modification of the same drug candidate, BBB.

[Flipase] = 0.1 mM
[S0] = 5 mM
[BBB] = 0.01 mM
Rate observed with inhibitor, v = 5.6 x 10^-3 M/sec.

Is the new drug candidate (BBB) better than the old one (AAA)?
