Please put the following steps in order for the general procedure for testing anions. Be sure to clean and then rinse your tests tubes with distilled water before starting, when you get a fresh sample of anion solution or are done for the day. To determine which of the three possible cations (sodium, potassium, or lithium) are in the anion unknown you must do a flame test as was done in experiment 2.
