Assignment:
Autumn is a 17 year old female. She was born in Mexico but has lived in the US with her parents for 12 years. They are very traditional and expect her to respect their values and live by their standards. Recently she formed a relationship with a young man with whom she attends school. The relationship has gotten serious very fast. She has told her friends (but not her family) that she "loves" him.
Autumn is a confident, considerate young lady. She regularly defends classmates who are being treated poorly and is not scared to get into a fight to defend someone else. She says she's been raised to protect others. "My parents have always told me and my siblings that it is our job...our responsibility to take care of those around us. If we let someone be treated poorly and don't step in, we're just as bad as the bully. I've really taken that to heart. I believe that God gave me the strength I have to help others. If I don't use it, then I'm rejecting a gift God gave me."
Autumn is very close to her family. She has three sisters and two brothers. Autumn is the second oldest. She reports being closest to her oldest sister and reports fighting the most with her youngest sister. She relates that her brothers tease her all the time, but it doesn't bother her. Lately she's been bickering a lot with her parents over issues such as curfew, friends and clothes.
