Name three specific details in the Jonestown documentary that helped you think about the process of socialization in new ways. Explain how each of these aspects of the film gave you some new ideas or perspective about socialization.

There are several theories on socialization and the development of self from a sociological perspective focused on in this chapter, including Cooley's theory of the looking-glass self, Mead's theory on taking the role of the other, and Goffman's dramaturgical theory. Choose one of these theories to summarize and provide an example from your own experience that demonstrates the theory.
