Since the 1960's, affirmative action has been a policy in constant turmoil--businesses and governments have continually tinkered with the policy of affirmative action as a means of addressing racism, sexism, ageism, etc. but with the intent of minimizing the effects on those adversely affected by the policy. Have they succeeded? That is for you to discuss and again, you should not be just providing an opinion or a personal viewpoint, although those may certainly shape your ethical position. Instead, you should be looking to constructing an ethical argument that depends on objective standards as set forth in the theories we have studied.

Remember to think about the implications of your decision--who is helped and who is hurt and how does that figure into your argument?
